If you’re currently looking for a job in Toronto and are interested in travelling, listen up! VIA Rail is hiring on-train attendants in the city and you can earn good money without a degree or rail experience.

Right now, the company is hiring 100 on-train attendants based in Toronto. It’s a pretty high-paying job, offering nearly $28 per hour. Even better, you don’t need a university degree or experience working on trains to apply.

As a VIA Rail attendant, you’ll play a key role in making each passenger’s journey smooth and enjoyable. That means helping with luggage, serving meals, ensuring onboard safety, and responding to travellers’ needs with a friendly, professional attitude.

Since each trip can vary, your day-to-day responsibilities will also differ.

You’ll be based in Toronto and travel along routes like Toronto–Montreal, Toronto–Niagara, and Toronto–Windsor, which means you’ll have the opportunity to travel around Ontario and beyond. While you’re on the road, your meals and hotel stays are covered, too.

The job comes with seven weeks of fully paid training, starting August 11, 2025.

Beyond the hourly wage, this position offers generous benefits — including a pension plan, unlimited access to telemedicine for you and your family, and VIA Rail travel privileges after one year of service.

To be eligible for the role, you must be bilingual in English and French and have a warm, customer-focused approach.

With 100 jobs up for grabs, it’s a great opportunity to get a start with a big company like VIA Rail.
