Viceroy Hotels has announced plans to open three safari lodges in Zambia and Botswana, expanding its presence into Africa.

Viceroy Hotels is set to expand its operations into Africa by opening three safari lodges in Zambia and Botswana. The new properties include Thorntree River Lodge in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Zambia; Lolebezi in Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia; and Atzaró Okavango Camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. African Bush Camps, a safari operator, will manage these lodges.

Thorntree River Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, offering proximity to Victoria Falls. The lodge provides accommodations with private plunge pools, a spa, swimming pool, and library. Activities available to guests include rhino tracking on foot and river cruises.

Lolebezi is situated in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi region, covering five hectares of protected riverfront. The lodge features air-conditioned suites with private plunge pools, an open-air cinema, and a yoga deck. Guests can participate in walking safaris, canoeing expeditions, and boat cruises to observe local wildlife.

Atzaró Okavango Camp is located in the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Botswana. The camp offers walking safaris, mokoro canoe trips, and game drives. Accommodations include suites with private plunge pools, an elevated viewing deck, a swimming pool, a wellness spa, and a yoga deck.

The expansion into Africa marks a new development phase for Viceroy Hotels, aiming to provide guests with access to diverse landscapes and wildlife. The lodges are designed to integrate with their natural surroundings while offering modern amenities.

This move is part of Viceroy Hotels’ strategy to grow its global footprint and offer new travel experiences. The company has not disclosed specific opening dates for the lodges.
