Trader Joe’s may be gearing up for another shopping frenzy — this time with a spooky twist.

According to a popular fan account on Instagram, the grocer’s viral Mini Tote Bags could be returning next month in four rumored Halloween-themed colorways. Perfect for carrying everyday staples, the designs are said to feature black, orange, purple, and green.

The buzz started on Monday, August 11, when the account @traderjoesobsessed shared what they claim is a first look at the bags. “Are you excited for these Halloween TJ’s mini bags coming out this fall (probably September),” the post’s caption read. “I waited a little before posting this to make sure these were real 😂 since there’s so much AI out there but it’s true!! Which bag is your favorite ??? $2.99 each.”

The photo showed what appeared to be a computer screen displaying the four designs, prompting speculation that a Trader Joe’s employee may have leaked the image from an internal system. While the chain hasn’t confirmed the release, fans are already bracing for another round of high-demand chaos, and let it be known in the comments.

“Here we go again ‘Siri set alarm for 5am,’” one user quipped, while another agreed, “I NEED the all black.”

Another joked, “Oh nooooooo I don’t think I have it in me for another hunt! Why can’t they just manufacture enough?!!? I’m too old for this!”

“Now that’s cute!!! Not gonna stand in a ridiculous line for them though ,” said a fourth.

Earlier this year, the spring pastel Mini Tote Bag drop caused long lines and resale prices that soared to nearly 10 times the $2.99 retail cost. In many locations, bags sold out within hours despite strict purchasing limits.

If the rumors prove true, the bags are expected to hit shelves in September 2025 according to Trader Joes experts. Until then, fans are keeping their eyes peeled for official confirmation from the retailer.
