Martin Henderson, who plays Jack Sheridan in Virgin River on Netflix, shared a stern yet earnest third warning for fans about scammers pretending to be him.

The actor took to Instagram on March 16 to share an article and a video speaking directly to fans, beginning by saying, “Just wanted to warn people again of the fact that there are a lot of people out there who are pretending to be me.”

He went on, explaining that these scammers are “trying to get people to believe that I’m in need, that I need financial help or medical help and they’re essentially fleecing people out of a lot of money.” He then referred to the attached article from The New Zealand Herald about a woman who lost more than $375,000 in a scam from someone pretending to be Henderson.

Henderson noted that this is “something that’s been going on for the last couple of years, and there’s a bunch of other victims that have since come forward who’ve also fallen prey to similar scams.”

The 50-year-old actor ended his message with a stern statement, declaring, “I just can’t tell people enough, I don’t communicate with my followers. This is my only account, I promise you I don’t have another account,” and urging people not to believe others claiming to be him.

Henderson first shared a similar video as a warning for fans almost exactly a year ago, telling fans to “Please block and report anyone who claims to be me.”

Then more recently, in the wake of the woman telling her story to The New Zealand Herald earlier this year, Henderson shared another video message through the publication warning fans of impersonators.

In the clip, he reacted to the situation, saying he was “personally very saddened and angered by these scams that are going on in my name,” and sharing another declaration that he personally doesn’t reach out to fans and only has one social media account.

The new March 16 video is his latest attempt at spreading the warning to people in the hopes that he can save them from falling victim to the scammers continuing to prey on his fans.
