Waldorf Astoria to Open First Hotel in Bahrain in 2028

Hilton and Al Sorouh Hospitality Development Real Estate have announced their collaboration on the Waldorf Astoria Bahrain Bay, marking the brand’s first venture in Bahrain. The hotel will open in 2028 and will be located in Bahrain Bay, one of the capital city’s most exclusive areas.

The Waldorf Astoria Bahrain Bay will be next to The Avenues – Bahrain, a premier waterfront shopping and leisure destination. The location also offers easy access to the Bahrain Financial Harbour, the country’s main commercial district, and major highways connecting Bahrain to Saudi Arabia.

Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta and Mohammed Alshaya, chairman of Al Sorouh Hospitality, expressed excitement at bringing the luxury Waldorf Astoria brand to Bahrain as the country diversifies its tourism offerings.

The Waldorf Astoria Bahrain Bay will feature 120 rooms and apartments, each with a Personal Concierge to cater to guests’ needs. Dining options will include a brasserie, a rooftop bar, and the brand’s famed Peacock Alley. Guests will also have access to two pools, a fitness center, a spa, and three technologically advanced meeting rooms.

The hotel will be part of The Avenues—Bahrain’s Phase 2 extension, reinforcing Hilton’s enduring partnership with Alshaya Group, which already includes several other properties across different brands.

Currently, Hilton operates three other properties in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
