Jeannie Geyer probably thought she was out of the woods. The last episode of The Summit, she had to face her fear of heights by climbing up a gnarly rock wall. What’s more, while everyone else had a partner to help them, she had to do it by herself, her only company being the threatening chopper containing the “Mountain’s Keeper” nearby.

Jeannie was able to conquer her fear at that moment, ascending to the top. And she was rewarded handsomely, as she was not only safe from the vote, but got to make half of the remaining trekkers safe as well. But, in an exclusive sneak peek of tonight’s episode, we see that her time on the rock wall is far from done.

The Summit Episode 5 Sneak Peek (1:14)

In the clip above, Jeannie is tasked with rappelling down the face of the mountain, which serves as the main obstacle for the reality series. The good news: This time, she has someone by her side to serve as emotional and physical support. The bad news: It’s Dennis Cho. Dennis, up to this point, has been the biggest villain of the series, between his explicit deception and emotional manipulation.

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” Jeannie says. “I have no clue how to rappel down. I’m so glad I have a partner this time.”

As she groans through the exertion and fear, Jeannie asks her climbing compatriot to walk her through it. He eagerly yells out to keep her feet apart against the rocks. “It’s worth it, it’s not too bad!”

“I definitely just lied to her,” he immediately snarks to the camera. “It’s that bad.”

Whether she saw through Dennis’ facade or not, his encouragement does not power Jeannie through her tough moment. At one point, she’s merely clutching on the rope, dangling away from the rock entirely, stuck still in pure terror, exhaling and wailing in agony.

“Dammit!” she yells. “I knew I should have tried out for Wheel of Fortune.” It’s heartening to know, while Jeannie has lost her composure, she hasn’t lost her sense of humor.
