The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival is upon us, and the biggest movie stars have descended on the city for this year’s top premieres.

The festival has already featured Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut, the North American premiere of The Smashing Machine starring Dwayne Johnson, and Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited adaption of Frankenstein, along with Canadian powerhouses such as Mile End Kicks and Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie. The festival has also been marked by tension, protests and marketing buzz.
