It seems Colin Jost will do almost anything to show his love for his wife Scarlett Johansson.

On a recent episode of Pop Culture Jeopardy! after a contestant shared a story about a lost engagement ring that was later found in a trash can at a bar, the host revealed that he went to great lengths to find Johansson’s engagement ring after it went missing.

The couple were engaged in 2019 and later married in 2020. At the time, Jost proposed with a ring that was reportedly worth approximately $400,000.

“My wife actually lost her engagement ring,” Jost revealed to contestants on the show, adding that Johansson suspected she may had “accidentally threw it in the trash.”

Given that news, Jost sprung into action and searched through a dozen dumpsters around New York City to no avail, per Access Hollywood

Dejected, he returned home to tell Johansson his search was unsuccessful, but she had some news for him. “I went back to the house and she said, ‘Oops! It was in my pocket.’ It was a great day for me,” Jost joked.

The couple recently appeared together on the red carpet at SNL 50: The Anniversary Special, with Jost doing his usual “Weekend Update” cohosting duties with Michael Che and Johansson making a cameo in a sketch during the show.

The Black Widow star is no stranger to SNL. She was featured in the cold open about the five-timers club on the Christmas special hosted by Martin Short. In that same episode, she returned offstage during “Weekend Edition” as the camera tracked her reactions as Jost read jokes about his wife written by Che in their traditional joke-swap segment.

In one such joke that Jost dedicated to his “boo Scarlett Johansson,” he said, “Hey Boo! Y’all know Scarlet just celebrated her 40th birthday, which means I’m about to get up out of there!”
