We’re fortunate enough to have some beautiful weather in Southern Alberta right now, but for those who love the holidays, it’s never too early to talk about lights, holly and Christmas cookies – after all, it’s the season of love!
From illuminated displays (many of which kick off in November) to snow day activities, there will be a ton to do and see with your special someone and since we simply cannot wait to talk about them, here are just a few romantic winter date ideas for Calgary.

Lions Festival of Lights
It’s dazzling! This November, bundle up and take in the beautiful lights along 14th Street. Grab a hand, a hot chocolate and enjoy one of Calgary’s most incredible displays – for free!

Tubing at Winsport
While they don’t have an official opening day yet, you have to go tubing at Winsport this winter – especially if you’re not into skiing. Just because the sport isn’t your thing, doesn’t mean you should miss out on hitting the hills!

Zoolights
Feeling sentimental? Walk under a bed of stars and lights, grab a hot cocoa and take a seat by the fire! Zoolights kicks off this November and you won’t want to miss it – it is tradition after all!

Skating in the Mountains

Glow Calgary
Showcasing a million bulbs, light-loving Calgarians are encouraged to not only explore Glow’s incredible display but also their seasonal market. From food, fun and photo opportunities, roam around without freezing your butt off!

The Banff 360° Dome

Stargazing Tour

Airdrie Festival of Lights
Western Canada’s largest FREE outdoor walk-through display will return to light the night this December and it’ll be just as beautiful as ever. Drink hot chocolate, take a lap around the ice rink, take photos, and cozy up next to their fire. You won’t want to miss it!
