Three Wise Men and a Baby starring Hallmark hunks Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell and Tyler Hynes was the most-watched new Hallmark Channel movie of 2022. So it’s no surprise that the network decided to make a sequel, Three Wiser Men and a Boy with the original cast returning.
“Viewers and critics alike fell for the charms of Paul, Tyler and Andrew as the Brenner brothers in Three Wise Men and a Baby,” said Jennifer Kramer, Vice President, Development, Hallmark Media. “The one resounding thing we heard from them was that they wanted more. We are excited to deliver and then some with a story that is filled with more humor and, most importantly, more heart.”
Here’s what we know so far about Three Wiser Men and a Boy. Perhaps we’ll get to see an extended version of the Brenner Brothers Nutcracker Suite dance!
What was Three Wise Men and a Baby about?
Three Wise Men and a Baby is a riff on the 1987 classic, Three Men and a Baby, starring Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson.
In Hallmark’s new take, Luke Brenner (Andrew Walker) is Mr. Perfect—an all-star firefighter and poster boy for physical health and clean living. But when he finds a baby on the doorstep of his fire station with a note asking him to care for it until Christmas, he’s uncharacteristically at a loss. Unfortunately, his mother Barbara (Margaret Colin) has to go out of town to attend to her sister’s medical emergency leaving Luke with no other choice but to rely on his brothers—Taylor (Tyler Hynes), an opinionated video game designer who recently lost his job, and Stephan (Paul Campbell), a pet therapist with severe social anxiety—for help until she returns. It’s one mishap after another as the brothers take turns trying to care for the baby individually.

They soon discover the only way to survive the week is to work together as a team—something they haven’t done since they were kids. As they slowly get the hang of things, they find themselves on unexpected journeys of self-discovery and begin to rebuild their relationships as brothers, as well as repair damaged romantic and professional relationships in their respective lives…all while rediscovering their love of Christmas.
What is Three Wiser Men and a Boy about?
The story begins five years later with the Brenner brothers preparing for another memorable Christmas. In a crazy turn of events, possibly brought on by the brothers themselves, the director of Luke’s (Walker) son Thomas’ (Miles Marthaller) school holiday musical steps down. Luke is desperate to make his son’s stage dreams come true, so he enlists the help of his brothers Taylor (Hynes) and Stephan (Campbell).
Meanwhile, the trio navigates meeting their mom Barbara’s (Colin) new boyfriend and the brothers grapple with their own feelings about this relationship. In true Brenner brother fashion, they are all in for a Christmas they will never forget.
