'When Calls the Heart' Season 12 Premiere Date Announced

Fans of When Calls the Heart, or Hearties as they are known worldwide, have much to celebrate today. There’s the premiere of Santa Tell Me, the long-awaited Christmas movie that reunites the Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing for the first time since Lissing departed the show in 2018. Plus, while Hearties were settling down with their snacks and hot cocoa to watch the new movie, Hallmark announced the premiere date of Season 12 of When Calls the Heart.

Hearties can mark their 2025 calendars with this important date: Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. That’s when the Season 12 premiere of When Calls the Heart will debut! The announcement was made during the premiere of Santa Tell Me. Check it out above.

Hallmark Channel’s longest-running original series, When Calls the Heart, was one of the first original series the network invested in outside of their many rom-coms and holiday movies. While Countdown to Christmas is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, When Calls the Heart just wrapped production on their record 12th season and it doesn’t look like it’s going to end anytime soon.

The show spawned a die-hard group of fanatics. Comprised mostly of women, the Hearties have their own fan convention which typically takes place in Vancouver, Canada where the show is filmed. The weekend-long convention offers fans a meet and greet with the show’s cast as well as a visit to Jamestown, the frontier set where the show is filmed.

The new season promises to be an interesting one. As you can see from the promo, Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role as Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie, is set to guest star in the upcoming season of When Calls the Heart. Little House on the Prairie was produced by and starred the late Michael Landon. Landon’s son, Michael Landon Jr. is an executive producer on When Calls the Heart.

Fun fact: Michael Landon’s daughter, Jen Landon (half sister to Landon, Jr.), is an actress and plays Teeter on Yellowstone.
