Finding grass seeds in Grounded 2 is essential for getting the Omni-Tool’s shovel attachment, which you’ll need for scooping up clay and grubs, among many other things. The trouble is that Grounded 2 treats finding certain resources like an environmental puzzle and assumes you’re going to look for the location in the right way without any prompting.

Below, we explain where to find grass seeds in Grounded 2 and how to get them once you do.

Where to find grass seed in Grounded 2

Grass seeds are a common item in the park’s starting area and around the snackbar, but only if you know where to look. The answer is up. Grass seed grows on grass flower stalks, and if you pan the camera up so you can see the sky, you’ll quickly spot which stalks are normal and which have grass blooms. You can also tell the difference thanks to a small text box that pops up and identifies items when you approach them, but this way is much faster.

Grass flowers bloom pretty much wherever there’s a clump of regular grass, and you’ll find plenty of them in the areas east and north of the snackbar — not so much to the south, where most of the grass is dead.

Once you pick out the right stalk, approach it, and hold the action button down when prompted to hack it with your Omni-Tool’s axe function. Like other types of grass, grass flowers aren’t particularly sturdy and fall under the basic axe without requiring any upgrades.

The seeds never come from dry grass. Ignore the big brown blades when you’re seed hunting.

Dry grass seeds don’t spoil, so there’s no hurry to use them after you collect them.
