What Was Carl Lee Schmidt’s Job Before ‘Love Island USA’?
The bombshell is a 28-year-old fitness instructor. His Instagram fitness account is “Witness Lee.” His LinkedIn also shows that he worked as a personal therapy aide for over three years.
Carl is from Denver, Colorado, and his personal Instagram is filled with pictures of him doing outdoor activities. His last video was of him preparing to go sailing in Nantucket with his mom on June 12.
He spoke a little bit about his travels on the show. The fitness instructor went to Vietnam last year, and there are pictures of his time in Japan. It looks like Carl is very close to his family from how often he posts them.

Carl and Aniya Make a Connection in Casa Amor

Aniya Harvey watched KC Chandler excitedly interact with the Casa Amor girls with the other men in last night’s episode. Trinity Tatum and Melanie Moreno encouraged Aniya to get to know the new men because of this.
Trinity and Aniya were in a group conversation about turn-ons, and Carl said his was “kindness.” He also revealed that he’s 6’4″ and into tall girls like Aniya.
“My whole family plays volleyball,” he told the marketing director. She was thrilled because she used to play the sport.
Ariana Madix later asked each man to kiss two girls that they were interested in, and many picked Aniya. But Carl was the first to offer his arm to her.
“I was like, who, me? You picked me?” Aniya excitedly said in a confessional. He got on the ground, and she got on top of him for the kiss. Carl also kissed Kenzie Annis next.

KC Chandler Kisses Tierra Davis in Casa Amor
The highlight of episode 18 was Aniya and Carl’s last conversation alone. Carl explained that he’s half Chinese. Aniya said she wants to go to Japan one day, and Carl studied abroad there. He speaks Chinese and Japanese and taught her a sentence. The pair agreed to sleep in the same bed.
This is a good sign since KC seems open to bringing another woman back to the villa. He mentioned that Aniya and he were a couple by “default” on the first night. The nursing assistant had the most chemistry with Tierra “Titi” Davis in Casa Amor. They decided to sleep in the same bed.
The original islanders will have to choose if they’ll return to the villa single in hopes of reuniting with their partner or take someone from Casa Amor back with them. If an islander is single after those decisions, then they’re at risk of being dumped from the island.
Aniya told Melanie she missed KC before her last conversation with Carl. Time will tell if she’ll develop feelings for Carl or go back single.
