On Monday night, the hits continued to roll out when the Knockouts began on Season 27 of The Voice as each coach matched up two of the remaining members of their teams for a sing-off that put one of their artists through to the Playoffs and sent the other home.
What makes the Knockouts different from the Battles is it isn’t a duet. Rather, the artists select their own song to compete with. So, they are picking material they are comfortable with, and they are giving the coaches an idea of the direction they hope to take their careers.
For the coaches, the Knockouts are tougher than the Battles. They don’t have a Save, just a Steal, so any decision they make is final. Even so, Adam Levine used his Steal to bring Kolby Cordell to his team, and Michael Bublé used his Steal on Angie Rey.

John Legend said: “I picked BD.ii because he’s soulful, he has great control and has shown himself to be one of our best vocalists. I am so excited to have BD.ii on my Playoff team.”
But Kolby isn’t going anywhere. Both Adam Levine and Michael Bublé pushed their Steal buttons for him.
Steal: Kolby Cordell
Adam said: “Kolby’s voice has got a warmth and a power, ability, soul grit. I feel like we haven’t seen the best from him yet. I enjoy beating Michael Bublé at things, especially this.”

Iris Herrera: “Jolene” by Ray LaMontagne
Angie: “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson
Winner: Iris Herrera
Kelsea said: “I was very proud of both of them. Iris just feels further along in her vocal journey. Watching her get vulnerable, get emotional, was the reason I picked Iris. I already have some song ideas in my head to play off to really lean into that.”
But Angie isn’t leaving. Michael hit his Steal button.
Steal: Angie Rey
Michael said: “I wanted her to be able to hug her coach before she came to win the show with her new coach. I stole Angie because she’s a modern country artist. She fills that country void on my team. There’s no ending to where this woman can go.”
The Voice airs Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
