Destination X is a fun new reality show airing on NBC this summer where host Jeffrey Dean Morgan takes a group of contestants jet-setting around the world as they try to solve puzzles and figure out where they are.
Each week, some or all of the contestants have to enter the Map Room and place an X where they think they. The person whose X is the furthest away from their exact location is eliminated each week.
Here’s how the first episode played out, but beware of spoilers ahead. Don’t keep reading if you don’t want to be spoiled.

What were the challenges on the Destination X premiere?
The first challenge to give the contestants a location clue was for them to throw suitcases into the corresponding country bins if they could figure out what country the luggage tag on each bag was indicating.
Mack and Ally teamed up to share tags, which was super smart, though Ally might need to watch her back, since Mack said in a talking-head interview that her strategy for the game is to align with the dumbest person there and then get rid of them later.

The clue from that challenge was a set of ruins with a nearby painting that looked distinctly Greco-Roman.
The group challenge had four members inside the famous St. Patrick’s Well trying to figure out clues to relay to their person on the outside so that the outside person could find coins hidden around the hillside town of Orvieto, Italy. Each coin retrieved on the outside was one person that the team got to send to the Map Room from the other team.
Mack was the runner for her team and found four coins, while Biggy was the runner for the other team and only found one coin.
Biggy’s team chose to send Rachel to the Map Room, while Mack’s team chose to send Shayne, Tai, Josh and Biggy.
Right before they entered the map room, Rick whispered to Josh that his team thought they were in Milan, Italy. It was absolutely meant to be helpful to Josh because Rick was telling the truth about what his team thought.
However, the location actually ended up being Rome, and when Josh put his X on Milan, that put him the farthest away from the actual location. Rachel was the second-farthest away because she was between Rome and Milan, but the other three all picked Rome. On his way out of the bus as the first player eliminated, Josh told the whole cast that Rick is not to be trusted moving forward, because obviously, he thought Rick was trying to sabotage him.
