This week’s episode of The Challenge Season 41 was full of insult and injury. One player’s mounting ailment caused a sudden switchup in partners, putting someone immediately in danger. With a permanent partner pick imminent, some people in the house turned on a couple of the most well-regarded vets. And it all culminated in the arena in a Challenge elimination classic: Pole Wrestle.

Who was eliminated on The Challenge: Vets & New Threats Season 41 tonight?
Derek Chavez
Derek was riding a high coming into this season, having put together his strongest performance so far with a second-place finish on Season 40. But he proved himself to get in hot water with one “new threat” immediately, going back on his promise to protect Justin Hinsley by helping send him into elimination. While Derek did solidly well in almost all the dailies, one bad finish sent him into elimination. He asked to face off with Yeremi Hykel, rankling the rookie when he wound up in a tie vote. Though Derek was able to easily beat Ben Davis in a headbanger, it was not a move Yeremi would forget anytime soon. When he got into power a few episodes later, he nominated him as the sacrificial vet lamb to try to take CT Tamburello out of the game. Unfortunately, Derek got the exact wrong elimination to do that: Pole Wrestle. As much as he tried, CT’s heft and size won out, eliminating him.
Who won the daily challenge in The Challenge: Vets & New Threats Season 41 tonight?
Sydney Segal
Yeremi Hykel
This week’s daily saw the return of heights over water. The duos were tasked with climbing up a spinning structure to place cubes at the top, then swimming to a platform. CT and Michaela Bradshaw finished in last after the latter decided to throw it, sending CT immediately into elimination. While the vets floundered, the new threats soared, as Sydney and Yeremi were the only pair to successful transport all five cubes. They chose to put Derek up for the jury vote against the Hangnail Theo Campbell.

What happened with Theo’s injury on the Challenge?
At the beginning of tonight’s episode, we discovered that Theo had injured his knee in the opening challenge of the season. Since the mountain climb, it’s only gotten worse and worse for him, prompting a check-up from medical. Due to the nature of the daily, Theo was automatically disqualified from participating until he could get an MRI. As a result, he was swapped out with Will Gagnon, becoming the Hangnail. Luckily, Theo’s MRI came back with good news, as he was medically cleared to continue in the competition.
