According to a video posted by a social media user in the audience, Culkin appeared to swear when addressing his Succession co-star Jeremy Strong, who was also up for the award.
“He’s right, by the way. Jeremy, you were amazing in The Apprentice. I love your work, it’s f–king…” before covering his mouth.
Additionally, Culkin brought up the infamous story of when he asked wife Jazz Charton to have a third child after winning the Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Succession in 2023, when he joked she said “maybe” if he actually won, not thinking he would.
“After the show, we’re walking through a parking lot … and she goes, ‘Oh, God, I did say that! I guess I owe you a third kid,’” Culkin recalled during his speech Sunday night. “And I turned to her, and I said, ‘Really, I want four.’ And she turned to me — I swear to God, this happened there’s just over a year ago — she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’”
