Labor Day feels like it’s arriving a little late this year, landing on Monday, Sept. 7, but that doesn’t make the three-day weekend any less welcome. And, as with any federal holiday, there’s one practical question that tends to come up before the long weekend gets underway: What are Target’s Labor Day hours? If you’re hoping to squeeze in a last-minute grocery run, pick up a few things for a backyard gathering or browse the aisles while you have the day off, it’s worth knowing whether your local store will be open.
Because here’s the thing: Target isn’t just about grabbing groceries or that cute top you probably don’t need but want to buy anyway; the retailer also often includes a Starbucks for a caffeine jolt or a pharmacy for healthcare needs. So a day without Target can really throw a wrench into your routine.

What are Target’s Labor Day Hours?
Current store listings show locations maintaining their regular hours on Monday, Sept. 7, though opening and closing times can vary by store. For example, some locations are scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., while others stay open until 11 p.m.
As far as Target pharmacies, optical and mobile, those are listed as having their usual hours as well; however, each of those departments typically opens later and closes earlier than the rest of the store. So keep that in mind if you need to use those services on Labor Day (or any day, for that matter).
While you’re shopping the aisles, take a peek at some of our favorite recent Target finds, like a stunning five-quart mixing bowl from Joanna Gaines’ line. There’s also a great six-tier arched bookcase that gives Anthropologie vibes (and it’s on sale), as well as a spot-on Longchamp dupe for a fraction of the cost of the real thing.
