WNBA star Paige Bueckers made a striking entrance at the 2026 Met Gala, trading her usual on-court gear for a bold, paint-splattered pantsuit that quickly sparked buzz online.

The Dallas Wings guard didn’t just arrive; she became one of the most talked-about athletes of the night, with fans flooding social media to compare her look to pop icon energy, saying, “It’s giving Miley Cyrus 🔥.”

The 24-year-old Rookie of the Year stepped onto fashion’s biggest stage in a custom black suit covered in bright, abstract splashes of color. The outfit blended classic tailoring with a chaotic, artistic design, making it one of the more eye-catching looks of the evening. For Bueckers, it was more than just a red carpet moment, it was a personal statement.

“All the little details; the beads, the coloring, everything, came together perfectly for me,” Bueckers shared with E! News. “To be you, express yourself in the way that you want to enjoy the process of making a beautiful masterpiece.”

The reaction was instant. After the WNBA shared her look online, fans couldn’t stop talking, not just about the outfit, but about how different she looked.

“It’s giving Miley Cyrus 🔥,” one fan wrote.

“Looking just like Miley Cyrus🫶🏾,” another added.

Others admitted the transformation caught them off guard.

“I literally did not recognize her upon first glance,” one comment read.

Another echoed the same surprise: “i didnt even realize that it was her at first SHE ATEEE DOWNNN🔥😍🤩😝.”

Still, the overwhelming tone was admiration. “I’m obsessed with this look, she looks sooooo goooddddd 😳❤️,” one fan said, while another simply declared, “You look like a movie star 🔥🔥🔥.”

Bueckers’ outfit was a custom three-piece suit that mixed structure with color. The oversized blazer featured strong shoulders and a relaxed fit, paired with wide-leg trousers that flowed dramatically. The black base of the suit was covered in multicolored paint splatters: reds, blues, greens, yellows, and pinks, giving it the feel of a moving canvas.

She kept her styling clean to let the outfit shine. Her long blonde hair was straight and parted in the middle, and she wore minimal jewelry along with a small black clutch.

Bueckers wasn’t the only athlete making headlines at the event, but her look stood out for its originality.

Just days before the new WNBA season begins, Bueckers is proving she can dominate more than just the hardwood. From averaging standout numbers last season to now commanding attention on one of fashion’s biggest nights, she continues to expand her influence.
