• World of Hyatt to Add Redemption Levels, Digital Points Sharing in May – Image Credit Hyatt

World of Hyatt announced updates to its award chart and new program enhancements, including expanded redemption levels and digital points sharing, effective May.

World of Hyatt will update its award chart in May, expanding from three to five redemption levels within each of its eight existing categories. The new levels—Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, and Top—are designed to allow more precise hotel-level alignment within defined category caps and to manage peak demand more specifically, reducing the need for broad increases or major category shifts in the future.

The updated framework will take effect in May, with a limited number of hotels moving a limited number of nights into the Upper and Top categories in 2026. Broader adoption is planned in the following years. The award chart will continue to use fixed point thresholds for award nights at Hyatt hotels and resorts, and the program will not move to dynamic pricing.

Two new program enhancements will also launch later this year. Members will be able to share points digitally, and Explorists, Globalists, Lifetime Globalists, and World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will receive early access to award night availability. Additional details on these enhancements will be provided at a later date.

World of Hyatt will continue its annual hotel category review process, with yearly category changes announced in April. Effective immediately, five hotels will shift up one category: Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach, Hyatt Centric Malta, Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort, Hyatt Place San Antonio-Northwest/Medical Center, and Grand Hyatt Incheon. Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa, opening in 2026, will shift up two categories. The Barnett, part of the JdV by Hyatt brand, will be downgraded by one category. These changes are intended to better reflect current market conditions.

The last structural update to the award chart occurred in 2021. Since then, World of Hyatt has added new brands, including The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels, and expanded its offerings to include luxury all-inclusive stays through brands such as Impression by Secrets, Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts, and Dreams Resorts & Spas. The program also now includes outdoor-focused experiences with Under Canvas.
