Gloria Guevara has been appointed President & CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) by its Operating Committee.
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announced the appointment of Gloria Guevara as President & CEO. The decision was made by the WTTC Operating Committee. Guevara previously held the position from 2017 to 2021.
Guevara has held roles including Secretary of Tourism in Mexico, Chief Special Adviser to the Saudi Arabia Minister of Tourism, Special Adviser on Government Affairs at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, and board positions at AMEX Global Business Travel, HSBC Mexico, Playa Hotels and Resorts, and Palace Company.
WTTC stated that under Guevara’s leadership, the organization will continue to deliver Global Summits, with the next scheduled for Malta in October 2026. An additional cruise event is planned for May. WTTC also plans to expand membership, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises and high-value organizations, and to engage with existing members individually as part of its advocacy program.
Manfredi Lefebvre oversaw WTTC’s last Global Summit in Rome in June 2025 and was appointed WTTC Chairman in September. WTTC reported that over 15 new companies are in the membership pipeline, and that organizations are returning after previously stepping away. The organization noted continued demand from countries interested in hosting annual Global Summits.
