Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed a development agreement with NILE Hospitality LLP to launch its Microtel by Wyndham brand in India. This marks the eighth Wyndham brand to be introduced in India.

The partnership aims to open 40 Microtel hotels in India by 2031, all of which will be direct franchisees of Wyndham. This move is part of Wyndham’s ongoing strategy to expand in India, a rapidly growing hospitality market. Wyndham operates 60 hotels in India and plans to increase this number by at least 25% within the next 18 months.

Microtel by Wyndham is known for its efficient operations, modern design, high-quality service, and affordable pricing. The new hotels will be developed in key Tier II, III, and IV cities, aligning with India’s infrastructure development cycle. The first hotels are expected to open in 2025.

Dimitris Manikis, President EMEA of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, expressed his excitement at the opportunity in India and emphasized the company’s strategic efforts to introduce more of its diverse brands to the country.

Vikram Singh Chauhan, Founder and CEO of NILE Hospitality LLP, also expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership and its potential to tap into India’s expanding economy lodging segment.
