The summer solstice is hot on our heels, and it’s high time to celebrate! This Friday, pick up your friends, lace up your shoes, and head to the Saskatoon Farm for a dreamy kick-off party under the stars.

What to expect

On Friday, June 20, prepare for an evening of twinkling lights, good food, and a ton of goodies.

From 6 p.m. to midnight, guests will be able to support local by browsing the market, then can grab a cider, beer, or glass of wine.

Once you’ve had a sip, make your way to the dancefloor and take in some live music before refuelling with a bite from one of the many food trucks on site.

Think all of that sounds magical?

As long as the weather cooperates, you might be able to wrap your evening in a big, beautiful bow.

While, at the time of publication, there is a fire ban prohibiting the use of pyrotechnics in Foothills County, the hope is that they’ll be able to end the night with a dazzling fireworks show — but we’ll just have to wait and see.

All ages are welcome, so if you’ve got a kid or grandparent, don’t hesitate to bring them — after all, a celebration isn’t a celebration without good company!

If you’re interested, tickets must be purchased online and will cost $6 per person; however, kids under 5 will get in for free.

It’s going to be an exciting evening, Calgary, so don’t miss it.

Cross your fingers for good weather and get hyped. There’s nothing like the summer solstice!
