Nothing says springtime in Calgary like the annual Calgary International Beerfest! And this year, there’s a lot more than just beer on tap.

The 2026 Calgary International Beerfest is returning to BMO Centre in Stampede Park on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2, and it’s set to be a celebration of Canadian craft and community.

As the country’s largest beer festival, Calgary knows how to do it big. With hundreds of craft beverages, tasty eats, games, and live music, this is way more than a festival; it’s a representation of homegrown success.

Here’s what to expect

Don’t let the name fool you. As well as beer, you can enjoy vodka sodas from 180 Degrees Spirits, cider from Sunny Cider, smooth soju from Chum Churum, and much more.

The culinary celebration continues with a seriously stacked lineup of food from dozens of local restaurants and chefs. Highlights include southern barbecue from Big Dog Smokehouse and BBQ, European-style pretzels from Bretzelking, and delicious Latin baked goods from Karyana Bakery.

As for the beloved suds, craft beer diehards are sure to find a glass of something delicious, with hundreds of beer vendors on site. That includes Fernie Brewery from the Rocky Mountains, The Prairies-favourite Paddock Wood Brewing, and innovative sips from Yellow Dog Beer. For the latter, we suggest trying the Chew Toy Coconut Porter, with hints of dark chocolate and coffee.

Extra ways to celebrate

The fun doesn’t stop after the last round is served! Be sure to check out the official afterparty of the festival, which will feature a selection of curated musical performances and interactive fun.

It all goes down at 9:30 p.m. each night and will certainly take your festival trip to a whole other level. Top-tier artists will rock the Beerfest stage! Bet on EDM artists, epic DJs, and a top-tier lineup.

For even more Beerfest fun, we suggest checking out the VIP packages, which come with a heap of perks. That means VIPs get their own separate entrance, private lounge, and washroom, plus one free admission to each seminar area.

Not only does the Calgary International Beerfest provide a platform for local brewers and makers, but it also aims to increase guests’ knowledge of beer, helping them find a new favourite drink. Don’t forget to visit the Cooking with Beer seminar to find your favourite food and beer pairing.
