August has arrived, and we’re officially in the final full month of summer in Calgary. Before the days get shorter and the season starts slipping away, there’s still plenty of time to get outside, make some plans, and enjoy everything the city has to offer.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things happening around the city this week, so you can make the most of your summer while it lasts.

Let’s get into it!

The Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is kicking off August with a night of soul as Thee Sacred Souls and The Womack Sisters bring their Constellation Tour to Calgary. The show will feature the San Diego Soul trio alongside the sisters, who carry a legendary music legacy as the daughters of Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack.

Blue Rodeo is stopping in Calgary this week for a show at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. The Canadian band has been around since 1984, and fans can expect to hear some of their biggest songs, including “Try” and “Lost Together.”

Movie night is getting a superhero upgrade at Landmark Cinemas Country Hills. To celebrate the release of Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, the theatre’s SCREENX auditorium has been decked out with Spider-Man-themed decorations, photo ops, and plenty of details for fans to spot before the movie.

Catch the Calgary Wild FC as they take on the Club Soccer Mont-Royal Outremont at Spruce Meadows.

Calgary’s only sunset cruise is back for the summer. Step aboard the S.S. Moyie Paddlewheeler at Heritage Park for an evening of golden-hour views, tasty bites and a chance to enjoy the city from the water.
