As we head into another weekend in Calgary, the city is packed with events to explore, making it easy to plan your days, whether you’re looking for live entertainment, markets, festivals, or something a little more low-key. And even though the forecast is calling for a bit of rain, it still feels like a weekend worth getting out for and explaining what’s happening around the city.

Let’s take a look at some of the best things happening this weekend.

BEEHIVE brings the music of the 1960s to life in a high-energy musical celebrating legendary female artists like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Through the story of six young women navigating growing up in the era, the show delivers nonstop hits, big vocals, and a nostalgic journey through one of music’s most iconic decades.

When: Friday, June 26 to Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: Stage West – 727 42nd Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $87.10

Fête de la Musique is a free, open-air celebration of live music happening outside cSPACE Marda Loop. The event features a rotating lineup of local artists performing across different genres. Alongside the music, guests will find food and drink options as well as family-friendly activities set up throughout the space.

Time: 6 to 9 p.m.

Cost: Free

Vet’s Eye View at the Zoo offers a behind-the-scenes look at animal care through the eyes of the veterinary team. Guests will have an opportunity to hear real stories from veterinarians and get a closer look at how animals are treated through photos, videos and X-rays that showcase what goes into their daily care.

The Curiosities and Oddities Walking Tour takes you through some of Calgary’s most unusual stories and hidden history. Led by a guide, the experience explores the strange facts, forgotten details and lesser-known moments that bring a different side of the city to life.

If you’re into live music, St. Paul and The Broken Bones are making a stop at Spruce Meadows with Heavy Heavy for an 18+ show in the Equi-Plex. It’s an intimate setting, so you’ll be right up close to the action while the band brings their southern soul sound to life.

Sue, the T. rex, is finally making her debut at the Telus Spark this Friday. Sue is the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered, giving visitors a rare chance to get up close with one of the most iconic dinosaurs in history.

Chalk the Block is taking over Montgomery this weekend, turning Bowness Road into a colourful open-air art gallery filled with live chalk murals, local artists and creative energy throughout the day. Alongside it, the Montgomery Street Festival will also be running, with vendors, food trucks and live entertainment lining the streets
