As we head into the first weekend of June, Calgary’s calendar is quickly filling up with things to do. From street festivals and live music to concerts, markets, and pop-ups all over the city, there is a lot going on and plenty to get into this weekend.

Whether you’re looking for something chill or a full day out, there is something happening for everyone.

These are some of our favourite things happening in the city this weekend.

The Okotoks Film Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and marking the occasion with its biggest program yet. Over 10 days, it will showcase a wide range of films from around the world, along with red carpet events and special screenings.

When: Friday, June 5, to Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Okotoks Cinemas – 100 Stockton Ave., Okotoks, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $11.53

Get ready for a night of beautiful classic ballet as Jeunesse Classique Ballet presents The Art of Ballet. The show highlights iconic productions like Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and more.

When: Friday, June 5, to Saturday, June 6, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 215 8th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $35.28

First Street Market is turning dining into direct community impact this June through its First Street Feeds Kids campaign in support of Brown Bagging For Calgary’s Kids.

Every vendor is featuring a special menu item, and for every item purchased, $4 is donated to help provide a lunch for a local child.

The initiative supports thousands of kids across more than 280 schools in the city and helps ensure that no child goes hungry during the school day.

When: Friday, June 5 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026
Time: Sunday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Calling all fashion lovers, Saddle Up in Style is taking over Coowboy Dance Hall for a Stampede-inspired fashion night in support of Dress for Success Calgary.

When: Friday, June 5. 2026
Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Cowboys Dance Hall – 421 12th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $14.99

The Calgary Zoo is hosting an adults-only night out filled with craft beer, great food, and after-hours access to the zoo. Guests can sample local brews while wandering the grounds after the zoo closes to the public.

Where: 210 St. George’s Dr. NE, Calgary, Alta.

Join Excel Homes for the grand opening of Monocle in Mahogany, a fun, family-friendly afternoon celebrating their newest townhome development. Enjoy live entertainment from Today 101.5 FM, food from The Dogfather, and craft sodas from Suds & Sodas, plus activities like face painting, a bouncy castle and more.

Plus, guests can tour the new show homes and enter for a chance to win prizes, including concert tickets and a family pass to a Cavalry FC game.

The Calgary Ukrainian Festival is bringing two days full of culture, celebration, and community to the city. At the event, you’ll find live performances, perogy-eating competitions, and activities for the whole family.

When: Saturday, June 6, to Sunday, June 7, 2026
Time: Saturday, 10 a.m. to midnight; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Acadia Recreation Complex – 240 90th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors

One of Calgary’s most iconic summer street festivals is back for another year. You can expect a full day of live music, local vendors, and family-friendly activities right in the heart of the city.

When: Sunday, June 7, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 4th Street SW, Calgary, Alta. (From 12th Avenue to Elbow Drive SW)
Cost: Free to attend

R&B legend Brian McKnight is coming to the Grey Eagle Resort for a night of all the songs you know word for word. From Back at One to One Last Cry, it’s one of those shows that feels nostalgic from the first song to the last.
