We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do this September in Edmonton, and honestly, there’s a good start to the fall season coming up. Whether you’re looking to do something with friends, family, or a special loved one, we’ve got events and activities for every occasion.
This full-production multimedia comedy rock show is coming to Edmonton this September, with Weird Al showcasing his iconic hits as well as some never-performed-live-before fan favorites.

Kejia Festival is taking Edmonton by storm this year, bringing a load of multicultural madness to the city with food, music, and close community vibes.
This will be the inaugural year of the new go-to free event. Folks around Edmonton are welcome to come down to Louise McKinney Riverfront in September for three days jam-packed with endless things to do, see, and eat.

Foundation Series, an established house music festival, is making its way to Edmonton this year. These electronic dance beats will have you swaying all night long, and now that they’re coming to Fan Park in the ICE District, it’s going to be an unforgettable night for Edmontonians.

Purple City Music Festival is back in Edmonton this September with over 125 artists taking over nine stages located throughout the downtown core. This multi-venue musical experience is dedicated to showcasing, as stated by Purple City itself, “new sounds from the global underground.”

For three days this September, the Strathearn Art Walk will be taking over Edmonton before the summer wraps itself up. This free, family-friendly event focuses on bringing the community together through celebrating emerging, as well as professional, artists and musicians.
When: Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 to Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026
Time: 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday (beer garden only); Noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday; Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday

This all-ages concert will feature not only the Foo Fighters, but also Queens of the Stone Age. If you’re a fan of these rock bands, it’s going to be a concert to beat.

Following an incredible inaugural year, Down by the River is back for more riverfront action. From Sept. 18 to Sept. 20, this three-day musical celebration will take over Louise McKinney Riverfront Park. From 1 p.m. each day onwards, the park will be lit up with performances, a market, food and drink opportunities, and more.

Edmonton Expo is the city’s most popular and premier comic and entertainment convention. With special guests, large attractions, meet-and-greet opportunities, and more, this convention lights up the Edmonton Expo Centre with a geeky and nerdy charm.

This coming September, Climb YEG’s facility is going to be bursting with energy for the annual Rocktoberfest festivities. Whether you’re climbing or cheering, this awesome community event is not one you’re going to want to miss.
