Get ready, this weekend is packed with exciting experiences for anyone and everyone in the family.

This weekend is filled with festivals, whether they are ending or beginning, it’s a packed next few days. Be it music, theatre, culture, or food, there’s a festival for it happening this weekend. Combined with a bunch of other exciting events like markets and zoo adventures? This weekend will definitely be one for the books, so check out our list of some of the best things to do this weekend in Edmonton.

For 11 days this August, guests are invited to watch and enjoy live theatre, outdoor performances, indulge in food and drinks on the festival grounds, and truly embrace the rich and diverse arts and theatre scene the city has created.

Time has flown by, and the Fringe Festival is closing this weekend after over a week of incredible theatre.

The Edmonton Dragon Festival is a premier cultural and sporting event that celebrates the rich traditions of dragon boating, lion dancing, and Asian heritage in the heart of Edmonton. The festival will be closing off this weekend with its Lion Dance Championships and the extravagant Dragon Ball Gala.

When: Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, to Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025

Symphony Under the Sky is back… in a lovely new location while Hawrelak Park undergoes renovations.

This outdoor symphony will have four performances over four days. Two days will feature Summer Classics: Beethoven, Mozart & Haydn, while the other two will feature Sparkling Festival Hits with music from Wicked, Chicago, and Mamma Mia.

When: Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, to Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025

ZooBrew is an exclusive adults-only evening at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, featuring live performances from local artists, craft beer, and spirits from breweries across the province, food trucks, local vendors, and other fun activities for everyone.

Time: 5 to 11 p.m.
Where: Edmonton Valley Zoo — 13315 Buena Vista Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

It’s officially time for Edmonton Pride.

The festival spans the entire weekend, with a variety of fun-filled events for everyone. Whether it’s an evening out at the Pink Pony Club, witnessing the popular Pride Parade making its return, or a Brunch Sing-A-Long with some of your favourite drag queens, it’s a packed weekend of celebration galore.

This weekend marks the return of Edmonton’s number one LEGO festival.

Back and better than ever, this festival calls all master builders together for a series of competitions, individual and team speed builds, and a free build zone. Show up and show out with your knowledge of everything LEGO!

When: Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 and Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025
Where: Mill Woods Town Centre — 2331 66th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Time: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday

Each Saturday afternoon in the summer, artists come together to fill the 124th Street area with live music and performances. This upcoming Saturday, there will be performances from DJ Beverly Gan between OEB and Remedy, followed by Addison Wall at Helen Nolan Park.

Where: 103rd Avenue (Between OEB and Remedy) and Helen Nolan Park — 12327 108th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Time: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Jerk and Jollof Fest is the perfect combination of food and community. This festival shares the stories and joy of the African and Caribbean diasporas, connecting everyone through cuisine, community and culture. Its food village can feed a whole village, and there’s a KidsZone for children, so there’s something for everyone.

When: Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025
Where: Borden Park — 7507 Borden Park Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Time: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cost: Free

YEG Chinatown RE:VITA is running Chinatown After Dark, their own version of a Chinatown Night Market, where they transform back alleys into a beautiful entertainment space. Visitors can experience activities, performances, and good vibes while using food tickets to curate a food spread with choices from over 20 Chinatown restaurants.

When: Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025
Where: 10566 97th St., Edmonton, Alta. (Alley behind China Marble Restaurant)
Time: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost: Free

As part of the Edmonton Mural Festival, mural tours are being held by host Linda Hoang around Old Strathcona. This tour will include light bites and sips from local spots in the neighbourhood and give insight into the murals shown. With this tour, there is even the opportunity to watch a live mural in process, so don’t miss out!

When: Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025
