It’s the first weekend of October, which means it’s time to get spooky!

The fall is finally settling in, the weather is cooling down, and the leaves are hitting the ground. Accompanying that is the onslaught of events happening in the city. We’ve collected all the best things to do this weekend in Edmonton just for you, so don’t miss out!

This Friday marks the beginning of one of Edmonton’s best scares for the season. Deadmonton haunted house has been around for 12 years, and if you haven’t been before, you definitely have to go this season.

Prices vary depending on when you go, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Edmonton’s Halloween tradition begins on Friday, running until Oct. 31. Over 10,000+ hand-carved pumpkins await — and this is a great spot for a date night or evening out with family.

Sing along to ABBAMANIA: Back To The Disco Dimension at Jubilations Dinner Theatre!

From rodeo action to country expo vibes, the Canadian Finals Rodeo is back in town for another year of country madness.

It’s finally time, Dark in Fort Edmonton Park is back in business!

Enjoy some beats, local food, two scare zones, three returning haunts, and one new haunt you won’t want to miss. Dark is the ultimate Edmonton Halloween festival, and this year, it’s going to scare your socks off.

Grab your cowboy boots, because the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is putting on a tribute night to the greatest names in country music. Listen to tunes from the names of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Hank Williams, Kenny Rogers, and Faith Hill.

Savour the tastes of Old Strathcona with the Alberta Food Tours. You’ll be taken around five different savoury and sweet spots while being told behind-the-scenes stories about the history of the area!

This year-round farmers market has so much to offer. They are home to over 120 different vendors, with more than 80% being local artisans who make, bake and grow their products themselves.

The Old Strathcona Farmers Market is one of, if not the best, in the city. This market offers so much, and there are plenty of items which you’d be interested in, from fresh food, frozen items, artisan goods, and much more.

Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays
