We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this weekend. Whether it’s a festival, a performance, or just a stroll around the city, we’ve got all your bases covered.

Without further ado, let’s jump in!

Edmonton’s science centre offers feature displays, interactive learning opportunities, and so much more. Here, you can even catch a movie in IMAX or visit one of its many exhibits.

There’s no question that Edmonton has some of the best escape rooms. We’ve rounded up the best of them in a list for you to check out as a family, and maybe, just maybe, you might be able to escape.

We’ve rounded up some of the best hikes and trails in and around Edmonton. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned hiker, or just a casual trail lurker, we’ve got something for everyone. These trails are also good in the summer and for year-round walking, but we recommend them this time of year.

This year-round market is home to over 120 different vendors, and more than 80 per cent of those vendors are local, who make, bake, and grow their own products. It offers so much more than you could ever imagine, so you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday

Every year, St. Albert runs the St. Albert Lifestyle Expo and Sale, with it being one of the city’s most popular events — next to the Farmers Market, of course. This weekend is the perfect opportunity to start exploring what the community has to offer. With over 250 vendors, you won’t be missing out on anything.

When: Friday, April 17, 2026, to Sunday, April 19, 2026
Time: 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Where: Servus Credit Union Place — 400 Campbell Rd., St. Albert, Alta.
Cost: $3+

Edmonton is hosting a tattoo and arts festival from April 17 to 19, and we couldn’t be more excited. With over 450 artists featured, there will be tattooing, contests, retail exhibits, and more all weekend long. Whether you’re all tatted up or looking to get one soon, this is definitely the place to be.

When: Friday, April 17, 2026, to Sunday, April 19, 2026

Where: Edmonton Expo Centre — 7515 118th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Friday Night Trivia is hosted each week at Telus World of Science’s Purple Pear Restaurant. This event is not only free but also family-friendly, so everyone can participate and compete.

When: Every Friday
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Telus World of Science — 11211 142nd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This concert series in Edmonton is inspired by one of the most popular pop culture concert series on the internet. Tiny House Concert Series is the John Walter Museum‘s newest concert series, bringing together small but excellent artists from the region into a tiny space to perform.

Time: 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: 9180 Walterdale Hill NW, Edmonton, Alta.

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s most premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 10310 83rd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton and offers over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market takes on strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays
