It’s officially spring, and Edmonton is blooming with things to do.

With so much to do in the city, Edmonton is absolutely buzzing with energy this spring. We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do this weekend, with escape rooms, festivals, markets, and holiday-themed activities. No matter what it is you’re looking for, you’re going to find it here.

Home to over 120 different vendors, more than 80 per cent of those vendors are local, who make, bake, and grow their own products. This year-round market offers so much more than you could ever imagine, so you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday

There’s no question that Edmonton has some of the best escape rooms around. We’ve rounded up the best of them in a list for folks to check out as a family, and maybe, just maybe, you might be able to escape.

This is Edmonton’s science centre, with feature displays, interactive learning opportunities, and so much more. Here, you can even catch a movie in IMAX or visit its new exhibit, Jurassic World by Brickman.

Downtown Defrost is an established music festival in Edmonton, coming up on its 11th year running. After winter comes the defrost, and that’s what this festival is here for. Providing big artist names and packing visuals, art, and world-class music, this is a must-visit.

When: Friday, April 3, 2026, and Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time: 3 to 11 p.m., afterparties are 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: 1 Sir Winston Churchill Sq., Edmonton, Alta.

Friday Night Trivia is hosted each week at Telus World of Science’s Purple Pear Restaurant. This event is not only free but also family-friendly, so everyone can participate and compete.

The Price is Right Live is making its way to Edmonton on its tour across Canada and the United States. Whether you’re just witnessing the fun or on stage yourself, it’s sure to be a wild ride.

Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium — 11455 87th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s most premier farmers’ market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else. This holiday weekend, it’s closed on Sunday, but has amazing surprises waiting on Saturday.

Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 10310 83rd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton, operating on weekends mainly with weekly activities and vendors open depending on the day. Here, there are over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market takes on strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

For Easter, they scattered limited bunnies around Queen Mary’s Market, and you can participate in the afternoon scavenger hunt to win big!

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays

This family-fun-filled afternoon at the Muttart includes a mini petting zoo, festive Easter crafts, a themed scavenger hunt, and so much more. All this is just packed inside the pyramids, which you can also explore during the event.
