10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this long weekend (Sept. 4-7)

3 September 20264 Mins Read

The long weekend is finally here, and we can’t wait to make the most of it. It looks like the skies will be relatively clear all three days, so there’s no reason why you can’t make some last-minute plans if you don’t have anything set on your radar. Or even if you do, there’s a whole extra day of fun to factor in, and we came up with some ideas. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this long weekend (Sept. 4-7).

The PNE Fair is on until Labour Day on Sept. 7, and there are still tons of cool artists to check out during their Summer Night Concerts under the Freedom Mobile Arch. Whether it’s for some classic fair food, a night of music under the stars, or to see Wizard of Oz on Ice, you’re guaranteed a memorable time.

Time: Noon to 8 p.m.
Where: 2901 East Hastings St.
Cost: $49+ including fair admission and concert tickets

Cheer on the Vancouver Rise FC as they face off against the Halifax Tides FC at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium this Saturday.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026
Time: 4 p.m.
Where: 6100 Boundary Rd.

Tame Impala is bringing The Deadbeat Tour to the stage for two nights in Vancouver, complete with psychedelic-inspired visuals that really take their sound to a multi-sensory level.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026
Time: 7 p.m. on both dates
Where: 800 Griffiths Way
Cost: $252.20+

Who doesn’t love a day party under the sun? Oddity Project is throwing a huge rooftop summer extravaganza with sweeping views in downtown Vancouver, and you still have a chance to snag a pair of tickets.

Party-goers can expect a day-to-evening vibe atop Fable Bar & Grill, with feel-good house music spinning from 2 to 9 p.m.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026
Time: 2 to 9 p.m.
Where: 755 Richards St.
Cost: $26 per person

Can’t get enough of this summer’s soccer craze? This Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC will take on the St. Louis City SC at BC Place.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: 777 Pacific Blvd.
Cost: $38.38

This Labour Day weekend, Granville DJ Festival is turning Granville Street into an open-air DJ party that’s completely free to attend.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026
Time: 2 to 9 p.m.
Where: 1100 Granville St.
Cost: Free admission

Car Free Days are back, and the next one takes over Commercial Drive from Grandview to East 1st Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 5. Expect cool vendor pop-ups, delicious food, and live music all afternoon long.

When: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2025
Time: Noon to 7 p.m.
Where: Commercial Drive, from Grandview to East 1st Avenue
Cost: Free admission

Organized by the Gastown Business Improvement Society (GBIS), Gastown Sunday Set creates numerous third spaces for people to connect, whether it’s at a drag show, a dance battle, or a live mural painting. With events slated for Sundays all summer long, there’s plenty to discover here.

This weekend, there’s another live art battle and open-air art crawl to check out!

When: Every Sunday until Sept. 6, 2026
Time: 1 to 6 p.m.
Where: Water Street in Gastown
Cost: Free admission

The iconic Shakespeare comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor is kicking off this year’s Bard on the Beach program, set in the community athletic centre of a (fictional) Vancouver suburb that happens to be obsessed with soccer. There are also a handful of other Shakespeare-inspired productions to keep an eye out for if you’re ready to check out what’s onstage next: Macbeth (now until Sept. 18), Goblin:Oedipus (now until Sept. 19), and Antigone (now until Sept. 18).

When: Shows throughout July, August, and September

Time: 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sunday, Sept. 6, and until 11 p.m. on Sept. 7
Where: 8351 River Rd., Richmond
Cost: $7 for GA
