Who’s ready for a fun-filled week that leads to another long weekend? With Valentine’s Day and Family Day both approaching quickly, there are tons of events, concerts, and activities to choose from. From this year’s Just For Laughs comedy festival to a soundbath and supper series, to The Trews performing at the Commodore, here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this week (Feb. 9-13).

Just For Laughs Vancouver is turning 10 this year, and to celebrate, the iconic comedy festival has what is perhaps its most star-studded lineup yet. From David Letterman to Atsuko Okatsuka to Zach Galifianakis, there are tons of big-name comics doing sets at this year’s festival.

When: Thursday, Feb. 12 to 22, 2026
Time: Varies per show
Where: Venues across Vancouver
Cost: Tickets vary per show

The next instalment of Fairmont Waterfront’s soundbath and supper series is coming up, and tickets include a decadent, three-course meal at ARC Restaurant, a guided candlelit sound bath session and access to the hotel’s health club.

When: Friday, Feb. 13, 2026
Time: 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: 900 Canada Place
Cost: $129

The Improv Centre presents a one-night-only show for you and your Galentines that’s filled with plenty of comedy and drama, featuring a cast of “wickedly funny femmes.”

When: Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: 1502 Duranleau St. 
Cost: $20 to $25 per person

Aerospace engineer and National Geographic Explorer Tracy Drain is presenting at National Geographic Live for one day only this February, and space lovers won’t want to miss it. Among her projects are rovers on Mars, a mission to Jupiter, and a hunt for exoplanets that challenged everything we know about our galaxy. The show will cover fascinating topics like deep space exploration, the neuroscience of memory, and the ecology of tree canopies.

In a night where hands-on science meets seduction, Science World is providing a fun, immersive space for guests to get a little curious and wild this Valentine’s Day. The special after-dark event will feature cheeky and educational Sex Ed Trivia, live pole dancing at the Centre Stage, and of course, flowing adult-only beverages.

Canadian rock icons, The Trews, are bringing their new The Bloody Light Tour to Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom this Friday, which sounds like the ideal way to kick off a long weekend, if you ask us.

When: Friday, Feb. 13, 2026
Time: 8 p.m.
Where: 868 Granville St. 
Cost: $60.50 per person

The iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge is transforming for Valentine’s Day, with whimsical, romantic lights and decor through Feb. 22, 2026. Love Lights is the perfect backdrop for date night, but it can just as easily be a cute Galentine’s Day excursion or family outing.

When: Friday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 22, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 3735 Capilano Rd., North Vancouver
Cost: $75 per adult

Head to North Point Brewing for more laughs, as the brewery is hosting a wild night of laughs as comedian Jane Stanton kicks off a deep dive into the chaos of modern dating. According to the event page, the show features top comedians from Amazon Prime, CBC, Crave, and Just For Laughs, all of whom will share their strangest, most hilarious, and disastrous dating stories.

Cost: $22.76 per person

Hosted by UP Dance Party Co. and The Hollywood, this Heated Rivalry-themed dance party is sure to put you in the ultimate long weekend mood before the weekend even rolls around. DJs Alma B and MY!GAY!HUSBAND! will be spinning beats from the show, so there’s a good chance you’ll find rivalries of your own on the dance floor.

Vancouver’s beloved Hot Chocolate Fest is back, and you’ll have almost a month to try warm, decadent sips at cafes and bakeries across Metro Vancouver. This year, there are 234 different flavours and 100 vendors to choose from.
