It’s a big weekend for cherry blossom lovers and those looking for new local art exhibits to check out. And since the sun is making its return just in time, you have no excuse not to try and break out of your routine for a bit. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (March 27 to 29).

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Fest officially kicks off this Friday, March 27, 2026, with the first instalment of Blossoms After Dark. The magical experience illuminates the cherry blossoms at David Lam Park, turning them into whimsical night-time blooms. You’ll also find plenty of food and drinks here to fuel your night.

Another night of Blossoms After Dark (in addition to the two-day Big Picnic) takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

When: Friday, March 27 to April 12, 2026

Where: David Lam Park and locations across Vancouver
Cost: Free and ticketed events

Speaking of blossoms, you can pick up some spring-themed treats at this year’s Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Fest, which brings new food and drink options to spots across the city.

This Saturday, Slice of Life is hosting a showcase of zines created by BIPOC youth aged 18 to 30, as part of a two-part, beginner-level workshop.

This one’s for punk rock lovers. Chicago’s Rise Against is taking the stage at the PNE Forum this Saturday, bringing their energy-packed music to the stage for a night Vancouver won’t soon forget.

This exhibition is a featured part of the Capture Photography Festival, featuring sculptural photos created in the darkroom and transformed into large-scale installations, all by Gerri York. In his work, York explores the blurred lines between human and animal, and image and object.

The Barr Brothers is an indie folk band founded in Montreal, consisting of American brothers Andrew and Brad Barr, as well as bassist Morgan Moore, pedal steel guitarist Brett Lanier, and harpist Eveline Gregoire-Rousseau

The Vancouver Auto Show is a great opportunity to test drive some cool vehicles, explore displays, and learn more about the electric and hybrid tech that powers them.

There’s still time to check out one of the world’s most popular musicals, Les Misérables, which follows Jean Valjean, a French convict, on his journey through love, life, and revolution. Get ready to hear iconic songs like “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and “One Day More” onstage until this Sunday, March 29, 2026.

With more than 75 participating eateries, Bite of Burnaby is back with a month-long celebration of the local food scene, including spots like Il Cappello Enoteca, Lee’s Donuts Brentwood, Mulligan’s Japanese Kitchen, Onggi Korean Cuisine, and Dageraad Brewing.
