The 55th annual Hyack International Parade and Festival takes place in New West, bringing over 100 vibrant parade floats together for the ultimate Saturday afternoon of family fun.

When: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Time: Parade at 11 a.m., Festival from 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: Parade starts at 8th Avenue and 6th Street in New Westminster
Cost: Free admission

This Saturday, the BC Lions kick off the new season with a game against the Edmonton Elks.

When: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Time: 2 p.m.
Where: 777 Pacific Blvd.
Cost: $20+

From video assistant referee systems to high-speed cameras and drones to football friction tests, the exhibition dives deep into the tech and innovation that make the World Cup possible. Presented in partnership with the Province of British Columbia, the touring exhibition Soccer & Technology from the FIFA Museum is a huge deal for fans of the game, and it has now arrived at Science World.

One of Vancouver’s best rooftops is transforming for a day party inspired by the vibes and scenery of Tulum. D6 is turning into a slice of Tulum on Sunday, May 24, 2026, and the dress code is white or beige.

Grouse Mountain’s new gravity coaster is now open for business! You can glide downhill on the new permanent ride, which stretches 1,434 metres and descends 919 metres. You’ll, of course, enjoy scenic views of the mountain and forest as you ride.

Time: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver

May is Celiac Month, and this pop-up market is celebrating with a 100 per cent gluten-free market with over 20 local food and beverage vendors. Set on the rooftop of the Skript Kitchen, you’re sure to find something you love here. There will even be gluten-free brews from Grey Fox Brewing.

The Improv Centre is introducing a hilarious new show based on a rotating crew of space explorers, who must rely on audience suggestions to explore a different “galaxy” every show.

The zipline is back, the less-than-$10 happy hour items are back, and tons of exciting new attractions await at this year’s Richmond Night Market, which kicks off at the end of the week. Soon, millions of visitors from across the globe will gather to share in the city’s excitement for the FIFA season and beyond.

This year is a big one for the iconic Shipyards Night Market, a.k.a. North Van’s free-to-enjoy weekly spring and summer event. Not only can attendees look forward to more food trucks, participating breweries, and live performances this May, but the launch of an all-new block party series is set to bring even more fun to the area around Shipbuilders Square.

Vancouver’s free-to-enter container market is back on April 30 with over 30 new food and artisan vendors to check out. The lively, open-air marketplace is now in its third year, bringing visitors together for live screenings of World Cup matches, live music, sips from a waterfront bar, and rotating pop-ups.
