Ready to unplug and unwind this spring? There’s no better season to do it, as many of B.C.’s most-loved cabins, yurts, and retreats are available for booking. So whether you want to curl up with a good book surrounded by rainforest, explore Vancouver Island’s untamed beaches and coastline, or a combination of the two, here are 10 off-the-grid cabins to check out in B.C. for a rejuvenating spring getaway.

Situated near Jordan River, this 150-square-foot bunkhouse is inspired by a Japanese garden, built using primarily reclaimed and upcycled materials, just minutes away from the Juan de Fuca trailhead and China Beach. Visitors can unwind on a king bed in the upper loft or a queen bed in a banquette, with an ideal group size of four.

When: Dates throughout April and May 2025
Where: Juan de Fuca, B.C.
Cost: $160 per night

Did someone say rainforest yurt?! With six acres of gardens, fir-woods, and bee pastures – there’s plenty of lush nature to enjoy at this spot. With gorgeous latticework, a spiral staircase, a loft bedroom, and large windows and skylight, you’ll feel like you’re perched in the sky.

Note that the cozy yurt has a three-night minimum stay.

When: Select dates in March, April, and May, 2025

Investing in your health and well-being never felt so good!

Sitting 30 feet above the ground is one of the coolest treehouses you’ll find on Airbnb. Owl’s Perch is the place to stay if you enjoy being elevated off the ground and want to treat yourself to some killer views of the surrounding forest and the Salish Sea. The luxurious treetop retreat is attached to three large cedars and one giant maple, using “advanced tree tabs” that cause the trees to sway gently, providing guests with a “natural and immersive experience.”

When: Dates throughout March, April, and May, 2025
Where: Sooke, B.C.
Cost: $190 per night

Perched high above the beautiful Shuswap Lake, this geodesic sky dome is an amazing glamping experience located on 30 private acres, situated just five minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from town. Plus, there’s a wood-burning hot tub to sink into after a long day of adventuring!

When: Dates throughout March, April, and May, 2025
Where: Blind Bay, B.C.
Cost: $229 per night

Looking for a scenic getaway to Jordan River? This adorable cabin is usually booked up, but there’s a decent amount of availability this spring to take advantage of! Tucked away in the woods, the cabin boasts a tried and true off-the-grid experience. No cell service or wifi, but plenty of forest to explore. The property even has its own creek, adding to the relaxing ambiance of your visit. Gather around the fire pit to watch the stars at night or hit the beach nearby.

When: Dates throughout March, April, and May, 2025
Where: Jordan River, B.C.
Cost: $167 per night

If you’re on the hunt for a group-friendly rental over a long weekend, this is your pick. With ten acres of beachfront property and sweeping views of the Strait of Juan De Fuca & Olympic Mountains, Sugar Bear Cove has its own private beach, three bedrooms, and a network of trails accessible from the property.

Note that Sugar Bear Cove has a three-night minimum stay.

Offering a completely off-the-grid experience near Quesnel River, Shaky Knees has a large wrap-around deck overlooking a forest and daisy meadow, as well as a private area with a pond and small waterfall. The treehouse itself sits seven metres high among the area’s giant Western red cedars and Douglas firs, with Youngren Creek meandering down the hill beside the treehouse.

When: Dates throughout March, April, and May, 2025
Where: Likely, B.C.

Where: Kaslo, B.C.

Finally, we come to this hidden mountain gem just north of Whistler. The Sparrow’s Nest is a rustic yurt near the idyllic banks of Anderson Lake that offers total privacy, majestic mountain and lake views, and an optional wood-fired cedar sauna by the lake you can add on for $99.

When: Dates throughout March, April, and May, 2025

And that’s a wrap on some beautiful B.C. cabins to visit for the chance to unwind surrounded by lush nature.
