There’s a distinct chill in the air, and autumn has definitely arrived in Calgary. With the leaves turning golden red and kids back in school, there are plenty of fun-filled ways to celebrate autumn here in Cowtown.

Whether you’re looking for a slice of the season or want to get your groove on at a live show, we’ve compiled the ultimate to-do list for a jam-packed agenda of activities. From Halloween-themed carnivals to punk and comedy shows, here are 10 things to do this week in and around Calgary.

The world-renowned acrobatics group will perform at the Big Top for the opening night of its new show, ECHO, with bold new visuals, surprising twists and never-before-seen acrobatic feats.

Get on the boo crew at Calaway Park! This Halloween-themed event is brimming with actors in costume, meet-and-greets, spooky scenes and parade floats.

Internationally acclaimed poet, comedian, public speaker and queer icon ALOK is coming to the Bella Concert Hall for a captivating comedy show.

You definitely won’t want to miss Public Enemy’s legacy performance at Grey Eagle, which is bound to be a night dedicated to the ongoing resilience of hip-hop and the group’s importance to the culture.

Experience the evening light of The Confluence at this after-hours summer party. The cultural centre’s opening hours will be extended as the twilight looms, giving you the rare opportunity to enjoy the site and its exhibits under the cover of darkness.

Celebrate Chinese cultural heritage with exquisite light and lantern displays, food trucks and local vendors.

Get ready to kick some serious zombie behind in this comedic take on the classic Dawn of the Dead. You’ll enjoy everyone’s favourite zombie flick in Celebration Field as the big screen lights up the prairie sky. Beforehand, load up on mini donuts, frozen lemonade and hot dogs. Don’t forget to take a spin on the Ferris Wheel!

Brighten up the end of autumn with this celebration of the best of the season at the Calgary Farmyard. The entire farm will be open and lit up with bright lights, plus its legendary corn maze will be open until 9 p.m.
