The chill has officially set in here in Calgary, but programming around the city is just starting to heat up. From fall-themed activities to weekend brunch, park pop-ups, and art tours through the most beautiful place in the province, there is a lot to see and plenty to do.

Here’s what you should get up to in and around Calgary this Sept. 19 to 21 weekend, as hand-picked by us. Leave some room in your calendar for these!

The 26th year of CIFF will offer over 200 feature films and shorts from Canada and beyond, with organizers describing it as “one of the strongest lineups in festival history.”

Calgarians consider Browns one of the best brunch spots in the city. With weekend specials, there’s a whole lot to love! Choose from favourites like French toast, eggs Benedict, and classic bacon and eggs. Browns’ weekend brunch pairs best with flavourful drinks, good vibes and better company.

It’s scary season, and are you ready to be seriously haunted by the tales told at Heritage Park? The spine-chilling Calgary Ghost Tours are back this fall, bringing the park’s historic streets alive with stories of haunted buildings, mysterious apparitions, and unexplained phenomena.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 17 to Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025

Blue-collar punk from Winnipeg meets tear-’em-down vocals and a hyperspeed rhythm section. Formed in 2002, Comeback Kid have more than two decades of touring under their belt, and it’ll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakout 2005 album, Wake The Dead, on this must-see tour.

Wrap up the summer in style with this family-friendly park pop-up, complete with live music and puppet shows.

Now THIS is Halloween! With thousands of light-up pumpkin displays in a walk-through format at Winsport, Pumpkins After Dark is fun for the whole family.

The grand opening of West District’s Radio Park will unveil Calgary’s newest green space to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a speech by Mayor Jyoti Gondek, and a full day of programming.
