10 things to do in Calgary this week (Dec. 22-26)

22 December 20254 Mins Read

Christmastime is here, bringing happiness and cheer. We can’t wait to celebrate!

Christmas falls on a Thursday this week, but there’s plenty to do before and after. Even on Dec. 25, there’s still plenty going on, and you can spend it skiing with Santa Claus or skating at an outdoor rink.

Here’s everything to get up to this Dec. 22 to 26 week in Calgary, Alta. Happy holidays!

Strap in for dinner and a show like no other! The side-splitting tribute to the famous British sitcom is a fully interactive, hilarious two-hour comedy tour de force of gags and shambolic service as Basil, Sybil, and Manuel serve a ‘70s-style meal together with a good dollop of mayhem.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, to Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026
Time: 7 p.m.
Where: The Westin Calgary — 320 4th Ave. SW, Calgary
Tickets: $136

This New Year’s Eve, skip the ballroom and head to Banff’s most nostalgic house party. Throw on your finest Canadian tuxedo and join a two-level celebration of food, live music, and Canadiana charm.

Start upstairs in the living room for good vibes and just enough bites and glühwein to set the mood. Enjoy a live band, followed by a DJ in an enclosed outdoor patio, bringing an unmistakable basement-party buzz. It’s cozy, cheeky, and perfectly Banff — a night that starts smooth and ends bratty.

When: Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025
Time: 8 p.m. to late
Where: Waldhaus Restaurant — 405 Spray Ave., Banff, Alta.
Tickets: $67 per person

Hit the slopes with Santa at Lake Louise Ski Resort before he heads back to the North Pole for the season.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 23 to Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Lake Louise Ski Resort — 1 Whitehorn Rd., Lake Louise, Alta.
Tickets: $155+ for an adult full-day lift ticket

Experience a holiday feast unlike any other. Thomsons’ Grand Holiday Buffet features a dazzling display of culinary craftsmanship, where every dish is a tribute to festive indulgence. Picture long tables brimming with slow-roasted Alberta prime rib, free-range turkey, and a vibrant dim sum station. Savour seafood paella, braised bison short rib, and an array of artisanal cheeses. And for the sweet finale: gingerbread panna cotta, eggnog cheesecake, and a hot chocolate affogato station that’ll warm your soul.

When: Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025
Time: Seating starts at noon
Where: Thomsons Kitchen & Bar — 112 8th Ave. SE, Calgary
Tickets: $145 per adult, $73 for kids 6-12 years old, free for children 5 years old and below

Bring the holiday feast home! Order a ready-to-serve Holiday Turkey Take-Out meal and celebrate stress-free with your loved ones.
