Phew! Are you feeling the January blues, Calgary? Well, if you’re in need of a pick-me-up, you came to the right place.

From hip-hop shows to herbalism workshops, we’ve scoured the city for all the best events to add to your calendar. So grab a cup ‘o’ Joe and prepare yourself for a weekend full of fun — this party’s just getting started.

The mini-me winter edition of Sled Island consistently boasts some of the top artists in the country, and this year is no exception.

When: Wednesday, Jan. 21 to Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026
Time: 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: Palomino Smokehouse — 109 7th Ave. SW, Calgary
Tickets: $88 for festival wristband; $26 per show

GOAT Canadian rapper Shad will perform in Calgary with support from local hip-hop artist The Blue.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, 2026
Time: 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Commonwealth Bar — 731 10th Ave. SW, Calgary

Join in the fun at St. James Corner as they celebrate Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard. This special event will not only honour Burns’ legacy but also raise funds for the Calgary Food Bank.

Foothills Bluegrass Music Society presents Miles Zurawell live at The Irish Cultural Society in Bowness. Miles Zurawell is a multi-instrumentalist, performer and composer of acoustic music on dobro and banjo based in British Columbia.
