Plenty of rain this week has managed to green things up along the city’s Bow River Pathway. It’s the perfect time to hit up Prince’s Island Park for the 45th Annual Calgary Folk Music Festival. Or check out artists and makers markets in Inglewood and Marda Loop. Here are 10 things to do this July 25-27 weekend in Calgary!

The Calgary Folk Music Fest is one of Canada’s flagship music festivals, held annually since 1980. This weekend, Prince’s Island Park will transform for a four-day, family-friendly extravaganza with over 70 performing artists, food vendors, an arts market, and much more.

When: Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27, 2025
Where: Prince’s Island Park — 698 Eau Claire Ave. SW, Calgary

Cost: Adults $108 to 264; Students/Seniors: $74 to $191; Kids under 12: Free

The best goth and industrial rager in town is back for its 11th year! Experience international bands who will gather in Calgary to celebrate a weekend of dark electronic, synth and industrial madness.

When: Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27, 2025
Where: 1000 – 9th Ave. SW, Calgary
Time: Times vary
Cost: $278 per weekend pass

Good, clean summer fun! Enjoy vintage thrills, tasty treats and movie night under the stars. Take a spin on classic carnival rides before settling into Goonies and Indiana Jones on the Celebration Field.

Where: Heritage Park — 1900 Heritage Dr. SW, Calgary
Time: 7 p.m. to midnight; movie begins at 9:15 p.m.

The 35th edition celebrates Calgary’s heritage and explores the essential elements of growth in our history. Over the 11-day festival, 81 events will take place, including walks, tours, and presentations.

This summer-themed festival in Inglewood features an exciting collection of vendors, live music, and more.

When: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Where: 9th Ave. SE, Inglewood
Time: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A curated farmers market with an equal selection of growers, artisans and creatives. Explore fresh, locally grown produce, handcrafted goods and unique treasures, all while being serenaded with live music from the Sarina Builds stage.

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Date night just got a whole lot better. Enjoy a screening of Miracle in Cell No. 7 at Delta Hotel’s magical Stargazer Rooftop Patio.

Time: 9 p.m. (movie starts at sunset)

Join Nature Calgary for an evening in the shadows exploring the fascinating world of bats and moths. This family-friendly event will allow you to inspect nocturnal insects with a moth-lightning station and use bat detectors to pick up high-frequency calls of these nocturnal critters swooping through the sky.

Join the Calgary Wind Symphony for a free family-friendly concert in Riley Park. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and experience an afternoon of wonderful music in a lush green space.

Show off your moves with Queer Calgary! This bi-monthly roller skating event takes place at the House of Skate.
