10 things to do in Toronto this long weekend (August 1 – 4)

Finally, a long weekend is in store for us! Do you have any plans yet? Well, now you do. It’s about to be a busy weekend in Toronto. We’re talking street festivals, pop-ups, concerts, and more. Here are 10 things to do in Toronto this weekend.

You won’t be disappointed.

Right in the heart of the city, Sankofa Square will transform into a cultural hub on Aug. 1 and 2, from 1 to 7 p.m.

Expect live music, dancing, Caribbean cuisine, and a fun marketplace. This is your chance to support local, Black-owned vendors and embrace the Caribbean culture.

Fun doesn’t end there! If you’re looking for more lakefront views, head to Coronation Park. The party continues on Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

When: Aug. 1 and 2, 2025
Where: Sankofa Square and Coronation Square (Aug. 2)

Perhaps one of the most hyped events for this year’s carnival is a live performance by the one-and-only Shenseea!

The iconic Jamaican dancehall singer is sure to put on a wicked set, with performances from Yung Bredda, Mical Teja, Problem Child and more! Even cooler? This is a powder and foam event, where partiers will be drenched in rainbow colours.

General admission and VIP packages are still available for this Friday night event at the Markham Fairgrounds.

This is not a drill! You’ll want to head to Cabana Pool Bar this August long weekend because global R&B artist Kehlani is making an appearance. It’s about to get really hot in Toronto.

If there’s one thing you absolutely need to do this upcoming long weekend, it’s to see Kehlani perform live on Aug. 2, 2025. Tickets are already on sale, and with this being the artist’s first time back in Toronto in a while, you’ll want to snag those tickets ASAP.

Get yourself down to Exhibition Place and Lakeshore Boulevard on Saturday to get in on the action. Masqueraders take to the street in their beautiful costumes and dance along for a full day of fun, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Organized into groups, paraders groove to soca, calypso, and dancehall rhythms westbound along Lakeshore Boulevard, until Jameson Avenue, where the parade will loop around to head eastbound back on Lakeshore and finish at Exhibition Place on British Columbia Road.

While it’s free to view the parade along the Lake Shore (if you snag a good spot), there are tickets available to guarantee your place.

When: Aug. 2, 2025
Time:
 8 a.m. to 8 p.m
