And just like that, January has come to an end. But at least we still have a few days left to enjoy the month. Thankfully, January has brought a ton of events and things to do across Toronto. To help you plan, we’ve rounded up the best things to do. Get ready for a fun-filled week.

Living Room at W Toronto Hotel welcomes all to enjoy an evening of Collage & Cocktails, a guided art experience by Issues Magazine Shop.

This ticketed event will feature collage making, shared snacks, and a welcome cocktail. “From creating vision boards to following wherever your mind takes you, this evening offers a chance to reconnect with your thoughts and spark your creativity,” share organizers.

Bookings can be made online.

When: Jan. 26, 2026
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Where: 90 Bloor St. E.
Cost: $65+

This downtown skating rink is easy to get to on transit, is beautifully lit up in the evening, and has a concession stand so you can warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., any time is a good time to swing by.

When: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: 100 Queen St. W.
Cost: Free admission

Head over to the Gardiner Museum on Wednesday nights after 4 p.m. for free admission. No advance registration is required.

When: Every Wednesday
Time: After 4 p.m.
Where: 111 Queen’s Park

“Step into the world of Heated Rivalry for a dance party inspired by the show’s explosive energy, fierce competition, and undeniable chemistry,” shares organizers. “This night brings the rivalry off the stage and onto the dance floor where passion, movement, and music collide.”

Get your dance shoes and buy your tickets ASAP!

When: Jan. 30, 2026
Time: 10 p.m.
Where: The Masonic Temple – 888 Yonge St.
Cost: $23.26+ per ticket

Skate, dance, have fun!

Hangar Skate is free to attend, and there’s music and a few other festivities you can enjoy while you’re there. Stop by every Friday for DJ Skate Nights.

When: Fridays
Time: 5 to 9 p.m.
Where: YZD Experience Centre – 34 Hanover Rd.
Cost: Free admission

It’s a great spot for beginners, especially those looking for lessons.

The centre also offers advanced instruction and access to both beginner hills and full runs for the more experienced.

Now with this recent snowfall, conditions are perfect.

When: Monday, Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where:

Cost: $21.29+ – tickets

DesignTO Festival returns to the city this month, bringing Canada’s largest annual celebration of design to the streets. Toronto will transform into a citywide artistic playground this January, and this year, it’s sure to spark some imagination.

As of Jan. 23, 2026 and for 10 days thereafter, DesignTO will decorate the streets with creations that “inspire you to feel through interaction, immersion, wonder and surprise.”

When: Jan. 23 to Feb. 1, 2026
Where: Across Toronto and online
Cost: Free unless otherwise stated

Enjoy the annual festival of contemporary music by the University of Toronto. Expect 10 days of concerts, workshops and master classes as the team celebrates new music.

When: Until Feb. 3, 2026
Time: Varies depending on the concert
Where: Various venues
Cost: Free and ticketed

The Bentway is a figure loop rink under the Gardiner. It’s easy to get to, and it’s free to enjoy.

When: Until Feb. 16, 2026
Time: 5 to 9 p.m., weekdays
Where: The Bentway – 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Free admission

According to the Ace Hotel, “Guests are invited to settle into a chic new alpine vibe at the Ace’s rooftop hotspot, complete with twinkling lights, blazing fireplaces, and warm blankets for snuggling indoors or out on the terrace.”

When: Until Feb. 28, 2026
Time: Reservations available Sunday through Thursday
Where: The Ace Hotel – 51 Camden St.
Cost: Varies
