Are you ready for a whole day with the family, Edmonton?

Family Day is coming up this Monday, Feb. 16, and we couldn’t be more excited. In Edmonton, there are loads of free and paid events to go to with the family. Whether it’s family-friendly for kids or something for the adults in your life, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s jump into the best things to do this Family Day in Edmonton.

Launch your family crew on a Moon Mission inspired by Artemis II, the first journey around the Moon in over 50 years, featuring Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen. This Family Day, you can train like astronauts and explore the stars!

When: Monday, Feb. 16, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 11211 142nd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $25.95+

The Silver Skate Festival is a 10-day family-oriented festival in Edmonton, combining arts, culture, sports, and recreation. From skating on the city’s best surfaces to gazing upon the magnificent fire sculptures, this festival has it all. You can even participate in one of many competitions, like Western Canada’s Oldest Winter Triathlon.

Family Day is its last day of running, so don’t miss out!

With towering ancient mammoths, hundreds of live bugs, and the museum’s hands-on Children’s Gallery, this free-admission Family Day event will be fun for the whole family!

The Muttart Conservatory is well-known in Edmonton for being a tropical paradise indoors during the winter months. Year-round, it holds majestic botanical gardens for everyone to see.

Currently, the Muttart Conservatory is showing off its “Prehistoric Paradise” feature. It’s showing off a step back in time with a lush, tropical landscape of banana plants, vibrant bromeliads and dinosaurs, which provide an incredible backdrop for photos.

Family Day means free admission to the famed Art Gallery of Alberta. Explore new exhibits, make an artwork with our Educators, participate in a game of AGA bingo, and much, much more.

Looking to create your own fun? City Hall has free skate rentals on Family Day, so you can skate along with your loved ones all afternoon.

Wanting to explore the history of Edmonton and spend time with your family at the same time? Family Day at the Rutherford House gives free admission to the historic home of the first premier of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford.

The Edmonton Public Library will be showing off a Canadian award-winning animated series in a four-hour marathon.
