With Heritage Day coming up on Monday, there’s a whole stack of things to do this long weekend in Edmonton.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do in the city coming up right away, so, without further ado, let’s get into them.
If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has arrived.
Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

Before they head back to Los Angeles for the America’s Got Talent quarter-finals, Acro Canine Crew will be on stage for one unforgettable day, celebrating with the community that’s been cheering them on every step of the way.

From June until September, the downtown streets will be bursting with electric energy, all in the name of community. Live music, patio vibes, and local businesses are what this Summer Block Party series is all about. You won’t want to miss out on these Saturdays, because it’s going to be a blast, for sure.

For over eight years, this international water lantern festival has taken place in over 175 cities, with over two million lanterns launched. It was even voted the best festival in the world. Finally, this weekend, it’s time for these lanterns to make their way into Edmonton.

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton and offers over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market features strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

Fairy Berry Festival is back for another year of strawberry madness in Alberta.
The Fairy Berry Festival is the longest-running festival at the Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm, celebrating the traditional end of the strawberry u-pick season. According to Prairie Gardens, the last berries of the season are known as “fairy berries” since they are the smallest, as well as the sweetest, a plant will produce. That’s where the festival’s name comes from, and it definitely lives up to it.

Edmonton Heritage Festival is one of the city’s best celebrations, and it’s back in its prime location for this year. There’s no better place to be if you’re ready to immerse yourself in the rich diversity of Edmonton this summer.

This is Edmonton’s largest and longest-standing outdoor market, offering over 200 vendors and a wonderful variety of handmade goods and locally produced treats. It’s a great community-driven market that’s perfect for those looking to get closer to bakers, chefs, artisans, and more.

Grand Market Edmonton was established in 2012, and now it’s grown into something bigger than we could’ve ever imagined. If you’re looking for the greatest market to visit on weekdays after work, you might have just found it.
There’s a market from Grand Markets on Thursdays as well, but this is a great way to start off the week.
