Trying to figure out what to do with your friends this week? Looking to get outdoors? It’s challenging to make plans with so many exciting events, which is why we’ve compiled a list of 10 of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this week.

From gripping outdoor escape rooms to chill jazz music evenings, check out what this week has to offer!

Unleash your inner artist with the Canadian Icehouse’s Paint Nite, hosted on their incredible rooftop patio in Downtown Edmonton. Guests are invited to sip drinks, pick up the paintbrush, and follow along with master artist Elena Russell in creating a visual masterpiece.

For this July Paint Nite, the theme is Blazing Summer. Capture the vibrant energy of summer and celebrate the season!

Where: The Canadian Icehouse — 10332 103rd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $45

Metro Cinema is Edmonton’s independent cinema, dedicated not only to hosting movies but also to creating and fostering a community surrounding them.

This summer, Metro Cinema is offering $5 tickets to movies every Tuesday from June until August. Check out what’s on their calendar and make a stop by this historic theatre.

When: Every Tuesday from June until August

Check out this spooky interactive experience at Fort Edmonton Park. Where Dark Things Dwell is Edmonton’s largest outdoor escape room, featuring live actors, exclusive access to the park, and a night you’ll never forget.

This week, they have availability for adventure from Wednesday through Friday.

When: June 6 to Sept. 14, 2025
Time: 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Where: Fort Edmonton Park – 7000 143rd St., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $35 per person or $140 per group of four (plus service fee and GST)

Just south of Edmonton, at Century Mile, Movies at the Mile returns for the summer.

These movie nights are held on the last Wednesday of each month, inviting everyone to grab a lawn chair or picnic blanket, purchase something from the concession, and settle in with their family for a perfect evening.

All aboard!

Dolly’s Cocktails and Fu’s Repair Shop are raising a glass and holding a joint celebration on Edmonton’s high-level streetcar. Tickets to this event include two cocktails, two food items, and a one-hour ride on the historic railcar.

At this basketball festival in West Edmonton Mall, professionals and Olympians from around the world will be squaring off to earn critical ranking points and cash prizes. Admission is free for this family-friendly festival full of fun.

Where: Ice Palace in West Edmonton Mall — 8882 170th St. NW #1174, Edmonton, Alta.

The Art Gallery of Alberta consistently hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, showcasing diverse perspectives and contemporary Canadian art.

On the last Thursday of each month, admission is free for all from 4 until 7 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to take a peek at their exciting exhibitions.

When: Thursday, July 31, 2025
Time: 4 to 7 p.m.
Where: 2 Sir Winston Churchill Sq., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Take advantage of the warm summer weather and listen to live Jazz music in an Edmonton alley. Edmonton Jazz Alley offers amazing shows, accompanied by beer, wine, bratwurst, and tasty snacks to enjoy.

This Thursday, Juno Award–winning saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah McDade will be performing.

This series combines the charm of Edmonton’s historic streetcars with locally brewed craft beer, creating the most exciting summer event. Each Thursday, guests are taken aboard the high-level streetcar and served a pour from casks exclusively available for these events.

CAMPIO and Talking Dog Brewing are the two featured breweries for this upcoming date.
