With the Lunar New Year rapidly approaching, now is the time to try something new at the Taste of Chinatown festival, a month-long celebration of one of Vancouver’s most iconic neighbourhoods. Whether it’s at the Chinatown Cocktail Showdown on Feb. 6, 2026, or a Sip and Paint Workshop on Feb. 15, 2026, there’s plenty to do this February. So why not see what’s on this weekend?
For one, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is hosting a special Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea service at Notch8, running between Jan. 9 and Feb. 22, 2026. Those who partake in afternoon tea get complimentary admission to the Chinatown Storytelling Centre throughout the festival.

You still have a couple of days to check out this year’s PuSh International Performing Arts Fest, a mid-winter celebration of all things bold and creative. The showcase brings together local, national, and international artists for a series of immersive shows and workshops.

The Rio is hosting a completely free screening of the Super Bowl, allowing guests to rally as the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots. The Improv Centre on Granville Island has a show running on Fridays and Saturdays that explores the ups and downs of relationships, or lack thereof. Hosted by Alliance Française Vancouver, this comedic theatrical production explores the age-old question of what defines “good” French, as there are so many different dialects that claim to be the best.
