Pack your umbrellas and rain gear, because it’s about to get drizzly, to say the least. From spooky attractions to a horror film festival, to an annual apple festival at UBC’s botanical garden, here are 11 of the best things to do in Vancouver this weekend (Oct. 17-19).

The Vancouver Horror Show is back at Cineplex Cinemas International Village, hosting a series of spooky screenings, panels, and table reads at Vancouver Film School. So if you’re ready to lean into the haunting and terrifying, it’s worth catching a screening or two this Friday and Saturday.

When: Until Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025

UFC Fight Night is coming to Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 18, with an unmissable middleweight showdown featuring Reinier de Ridder against Brendan Allen.

When: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: 800 Griffiths Way
Cost: $176.66+

Mark your calendars for this one! UBC’s Apple Festival is back at the UBC Botanical Garden on Oct. 18 and 19, 2025. Here, you can savour over 50 apple varieties at the Tasting Tent, enjoy live food demos, sip your way through the brand-new Apple Cider Garden, and browse the bustling food fair. Take home unique varieties from the apple and apple tree sale, catch live entertainment, and let your kids loose in the Children’s Area, complete with exclusive merch, games, and the famous giant leaf pile.

Admission is priced at $11 for those aged eight and 64, $10 for seniors, and $12 for GA when purchased onsite.

Vancouver’s scariest Halloween experience is back at the PNE, complete with seven haunted houses, terrifying rides and attractions, and roaming entertainment that is sure to knock your socks off. Weekdays are a great time to get ahead of the weekend crowds and get your scare on.

When: Select nights from Oct. 1 to 31, 2025
Time: 6 to 11 p.m. or midnight, depending on the day

Cheer on the BC Lions this weekend as they face off against the Edmonton Elks at BC Place.

The next day, BC Place is transforming for the Whitecaps game against Dallas. Whether you’re a soccer lover or a casual spectator, this game should be action-packed and a fun time for groups of all sizes.

This year’s Burnaby Halloween Festival is completely transforming the city until Oct. 31 into the ultimate spooky destination, with over 20 events to choose from for all ages. Whether it’s the glowing magic of Pumpkins After Dark or the Monster Dash 5K, there’s something for everyone here.

From Oct. 10 to Nov. 2, 2025, you can step into a transformed forest at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and enjoy the spooky vibes. With glowing lights, creepy decor, pumpkins, and haunted woodland creatures coming to life at night, you’ll be able to see a whole different side of this famous suspension bridge.

Harvest Days is a time-honoured tradition in Vancouver that transforms VanDusen’s 55 acres into a celebration of autumn’s bounty, complete with fall decor, pumpkins, sweet treats, and live music. This weekend marks your last chance to enjoy the festivities!

When: Weekends until Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Improv Centre on Granville Island has a new show to check out on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as select Thursdays until Nov. 1, 2025. I Know What You Did Last Weekend focuses on a group of friends who experience a tragic accident and are forced to keep a deadly secret. Inspired by ’90s teen slasher films, the show is sure to bring on the laughs.
