From international piano competitions to ski movie festivals, there are plenty of things to fill up your calendar. Here are the best things to do in and around Calgary this Oct. 14 to 17 week.

The six-day festival of ideas is a bright light in dark times — an antidote to exhaustion, connecting writers and readers. Come celebrate 30 years!
